I'm very sorry about the condition of the software ... I had started a rewrite to get bare minimum functionality working (contacts, calls), but then my PhD program ate every bit of free time in my life....

It's not documented properly but currently how the SD card works is you put files with the ...

The chip should indeed be a 2560. Some documentation may be out of date....

As for troubleshooting first check:

• do you see anything over serial?

That said, the build is all open-source, so it's technically feasible to build your own, with a lot of work.
